Robin Ridge
One of the oldest wineries in the Similkameen Valley, this natural organic winery is run by Caroline and Tim Cottrill who built their property in Keremeos, B.C. in 1993. Using the labor intensive Geneva Double Curtain trellis that exposes the fruit to the intense Similkameen sunshine, the Cottills produce naturally intense flavored grapes and wines while respecting the soil and environment around them. By focusing on the organic method, the winery relies on organic fertilizers and places emphasis on techniques such as companion planting. Biological pest control, mixed cover cropping and fostering of insect predators are encouraged. In general, the Cottrills aim to produce wines that are true to the earth, without using synthetic chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. Instead, they prefer to cooperate with nature. Their expansion of varietal types continues to grow today and receive award-winning accolades. The Gamay, Cabernet Franc, Meritage , Merlot, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer & the Riesling are just a few of his varietals.
