Lugana D.O.C - A different kind of Italian Wine

From the Monte Del Fra estate in Peschiera del Garda, east of Lake Garda, comes a one-of-a-kind white wine, consisting of a singular native grape; "Trebbiano di Lugana", from which this fantastic wine gets it's name, "Lugana D.O.C"

This wine has an unprecedented aging potential,

This wine can thank it's ability to maintain high levels of tartaric acid for it's aging, which can lead to it a potential of up to a decade or more.

Lugana DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) comes in five different versions, "Lugana", "Lugana Riserva", "Lugana Superiore", "Lugana Vendemmia Tardiva", and "Lugana Spumante".

The most important of these wines of course, is Lugana, thanks to it's history, enticing floral aromas of white spring flowers, along with juicy citrus and green apple flavors, balanced with tangy acidity.

This wine is fermented in stainless steel vats, right after soft-pressing the grapes. The wine is left in it's vats to mature for 3/4's of a month, before being bottled. The bottled product is left to sit and age for 2 months before being released for sale.

"Lugana D.O.C" pairs best with pasta, Fish hors d’oeuvres, rice, beans, vegetable dishes, and of course, seafood.

The earliest known reference to Monte Del Fra dates back to 1492, but gained global fame in the 20th century. Currently under the management of the Bonomo family, Monte Del Fra dedicates themselves fully to creating the best elegant, affordable wines. They've exported over 1 million bottles 58 countries.
